"Yes, some people say I am crazy; too old to be running; not athletic enough; to tall …. I've heard it all. I suppose I could stay home and watch the Kardashians." Molly Sheridan, 57, runs marathons (she was the first American woman to run La Ultra — The High, a 138-mile non-stop footrace in the Himalayas) is a motivational speaker, professional race organizer, certified running coach, author and mother of three.

She entered her first marathon at 48 and four weeks into training, injured her foot. Her doctor said she was too old to be running. Three months later, she mailed her finish-line picture to her doctor. She entered the Rio Del Lago 100-mile Endurance Race, and while traversing 100 miles through northern California, she discovered her love of endurance running. Since then, Sheridan has run more than 45 ultramarathons. The documentary Molly's Run follows her as she completes the Badwater Ultramarathon, considered the toughest footrace on the planet running through Badwater, Death Valley, the lowest point in the continental U.S., and ending at Mt. Whitney portal.

In 2009, Sheridan founded Desert Sky Adventures, a race management, training and running adventure tour company. The company is a full-service race management company capable of executing an entire race from start to finish or simply assisting with consultation. DSA also provides race-training programs with seasoned running coaches and facilitates adventure-running trips. DSA produces races such as the Summerlin Half Marathon, Pilgrims Rock! and this year's inaugural Las Vegas 150K Run & Relay.

She also wrote Running Past Midnight: A Woman's Ultra-Marathon Adventure that was recently released. Sheridan just returned from South Korea, where she was a speaker at the ninth Annual Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity Conference alongside speakers like Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett Packard and Julia Gillard, former prime minister of Australia.
