While MAGIC is just around the corner, you can already start planning for your spring wardrobe (yes, already). FN Platform's Leslie Gallin, the president of footwear for Advanstar Global, runs four huge footwear shows every year and talks to everyone from emerging designers to established brands. Here she shares five of the biggest shoe trends for next spring.

1. The Smoking Shoe
This shoe trend that was once reserved for elderly statesmen has gotten a fresh and fashionable facelift. The versatile flat is perfect for everyday wear and offers regal appeal and comfort at the same time.

2. Booties
Snow or sun, this season-less style has proven to be a closet staple. Paired with jeans or worn with shorts and dresses, the bootie trend is here to stay.

3. Single Platform
This trend graced our presence in the '90s and is back better than ever. It offers the perfect marriage of comfort and style and is sure to become a footwear classic.

4. Mid-heel
Another trend that is offering style AND comfort. This versatile look offers a sleek aesthetic that is wearable yet maintains its sophistication.

5. Western-inspired
Everyone seems to be having a love affair with the wild, wild west. From luxury fashion houses to fast fashion brands, Western-inspired footwear with modern details are providing just the right amount of edge.
