Miss Nevada USA Nia Sanchez, the 24-year-old fourth degree black belt in tae kwan do, beat out 50 other contestants to win the Miss USA crown. Sanchez, who lives in Las Vegas, was crowned by Erin Brady, the 2013 winner.

Sanchez beat out first runner-up Miss North Dakota Audra Mari, Miss Louisiana Brittany Guidry, Miss Georgia Tiana Griggs, Miss Florida Brittany Oldehoff and Miss Iowa Carlyn Bradarich. The TV audience gave Bradarich a second chance by voting her back in the competition via Twitter.

Sanchez will go on from the 63rd Miss USA to represent the United State at the Miss Universe competition later this year. This marks the first time a Miss Nevada USA has won the crown.
