Miss Nevada USA Nia Sanchez competes this weekend in the Miss USA pageant, which goes live on Sunday starting at 8 p.m. from Baton Rouge, La. Sanchez goes up against 50 other contestants from across the United States for a chance to represent America in the Miss Universe Pageant.
The 24-year-old hails from Sacramento and worked in Europe as a nanny. One of her passions? Travel. She's already visited the Middle East, Austria, Mexico and Switzerland and has plans to head to two more countries by the end of the year.
Sanchez has worked as a full-time model for the past seven years and was chosen out of thousands of applicants to be a face character for Hong Kong Disney.
She's also a fourth degree black belt in tae kwon do and has trained for more than 12 years.
