Buckle up, Summerlin. You're about to get a Danish fashion juggernaut. B.Young is one of the new stores coming to Downtown Summerlin, the shopping center opening in October just south of Red Rock Resort. And it will be the first in the United States.

The 14,073-square-foot store will stand alone near one of the parking garages in the middle of the complex. Parent DK Company out of Denmark is spending $950,000 on the build out of the store that will feature casual fashions covering dresses, skirts and shirts.

Don't compare it to H&M, that other Scandinavian designer with its fast fashions and even faster growing chain. B.Young sells itself as "high fashion quality with attractive prices." Many of their items ring in under $100, although the company does create six collections a year for "just in time" fashions.

B.Young has 250 stores, mainly in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, and parent company DK Co. is on a spending spree, acquiring the brands InWear, Matinique, Part Two and Soaked In Luxury from IC Cos. in April. Already DK Co. owns 17 brands including B Young, Ichi and Fransa and wants to become "one of Europe's leading multi-brand providers."
