Three local fashion designers along with students from the Art Institute of Las Vegas created looks for the sustainable fashions runway show last week at the Springs Preserve. Designers such as Crystal Ball of So Crystal Designs with no darts, zippers or buttons that wrap or flow; Ciara Laidler with her recycled fashions; and Dayana Reuda, who designs Stardom with recycled plastics, table clothes and curtains, put their works on display there. Amy Bond even created a bridal gown during the show while the Art Institute students created their sustainable looks from recycled materials. Now many of the looks are features in an exhibit, Sustainable Style: Fashion and Photography, in the Big Springs Gallery.
