If the fashions at the Academy Awards last night say anything about what's in store for the future, expect to work out your shoulders. Strapless gowns made strong headway on the red carpet in metallics, navy blues and baby pinks. Metallic golds that resembled the Oscar statuette itself ranged from Kristin Chenoweth's stunning gold Versace gown to Lady Gaga's lavender metallic from the designer. Jennifer Garner recalled the days of flapper girls in Oscar de la Renta while Cate Blanchett chose a soft nude highlighted by Swarovski crystals in Armani Prive. As for navy blue, Sandra Bullock and Amy Adams chose Alexander McQueen and Gucci Couture respectively while the gents Leonardo DiCaprio and Kevin Spacey chose the color over traditional black.
