For the Academy Awards red carpet, Racked Vegas asked pin-up model and fashion icon Sabina Kelley to jot down her thoughts on the celebrities and their outfits. Kelley was a judge on the third season of Oxygen Network's Best Ink and judges and hosts Best Ink Redemption online. She owns Bombshell Tattoo Removal inside Carey Hart's Hart and Huntington tattoo shop at the Hard Rock Hotel. You can find her at SabinaKelley.com. Read what she has to say about the always talked about best and worst looks at the Academy Awards.
I'm talking dresses and suits, best and worst dressed for the 86th annual Academy Awards. With the crazy rainy weather on the red carpet, it was extra special to have a lot of the designers personally fly in. Overall, most everyone looked amazing, but there were a few who stood out above the rest, whether it was in a good way or not so good.
Best Dressed:
Cate Blanchett was in Giorgio Armani. Her dress was so unique and so stunning. I loved how the nude color of her dress matched her skin tone, making all the jewels and beads pop even more. Her earrings were perfect, and added that extra touch to her jaw dropping dress.
Baby blue is one of my favorite colors and Lupita Nyong'o's skin looked flawless and smooth in her Prada stunner. Her long, flowing dress was simple and elegant, and I loved the headband, earrings and bracelet she chose to complement the gown along with her fresh and natural makeup and hair. She looked like a princess for sure.
Charlize Theron has got to be the most beautiful woman alive. I have to say she was my favorite of the night! Her floor length black dress from Dior hugged her curves perfectly and her body was so on point. Her dark colored nails and simple accessories proved she didn't need much since she is such a natural beauty. I really liked the look of the nude straps and the low cut back. I want this dress.
I loved Kevin Spacey's Burberry navy blue suit with the black trim. He looked so sharp — that suit was fashionable and remained classy.
Kelly Osbourne has grown up and cleaned up into such a beautiful woman. Her fashion style is so unique, yet so stunning. Her hair had to be my absolute favorite of the night — the retro hairstyle and purple hair combined with the elegant Badgley Mischka gown caught my eye for sure.
The couple that was the best dressed by far had to be Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Tom Ford and Elie Saab Haute Couture. They both looked so young and glamorous. Her unbelievable metallic gown was so elegant. It's also the first time in awhile that Angelina did not look too skinny — she looked healthy and gorgeous. Brad looked handsome and well groomed and the cut of the suit fit his body amazing.
Worst Dressed:
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture. A lot of people will probably battle me on this decision, but I was not impressed, and it wasn't because she fell getting out of the car going to the red carpet. Jennifer is a gorgeous woman, but that dress did her no favors. The ruffles on the hips just accentuated her hips to look way bigger than they are and I feel she could have done so much better. I did like her decision to wear a red dress since that is an incredible color on her skin tone.
Ugh, I was so disappointed with Jared Leto's Saint Laurent suit. He's so good looking and to me, he just looked unmatched and sloppy tonight. His hair was messy and I am not a fan of the off white colored jacket. (The off white suit jackets were very popular on the carpet and I think they are hideous. If you're gonna rock an off white suit jacket, rock the off white pants too.) The black pants with the black tuxedo stripe were such a no no with the jacket. The only thing that saved him was the red bow tie, which showed a great side of his personality.
Sally Hawkins' Valentino dress looked like she grabbed her grandma's wedding dress to wear. It was so gaudy with the beads and the long sleeves over the hands — yuck! I hated it. Her hair looked unkempt with half of her strands not curled. She did not look ready to hit the red carpet. I wish I could have styled her up, because she is truly beautiful woman.
Pharrell Williams in Lanvin. What was he thinking? Shorts with a suit jacket? NO! That killed his entire look. If he had pants on, he would have been so on point. It looked like his wife Helen Lasichanh took his pants and left him with wearing the shorts. They were the worst dressed couple for sure.
