Local swimwear designer Bellina Rebelle found itself in the national spotlight when the 50th anniversary rendition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue came out last week. Both the print and online versions feature several pieces of the inaugural line of customizable swimwear.
Owner Brittany Kosmala says she submitted several pieces for consideration. "I never in a million years imagined I would have my designs worn by such beautiful models in what is considered to be the Grammys of the swim industry, Sports Illustrated," she wrote on the Bellina Rebelle Facebook page. "I am so honored to be able to have this opportunity to share my creations with the world. It is all so surreal, I always imagined designing bikinis and creating a lifestyle brand that was reflective of my personality and my lifestyle."
The suits, which technically made their debut in the issue, can be customized with colorful straps, a weather resistant line of jewelry and a variety of top and bottom options. Bikini lovers can create their own swimsuit designs in just minutes.
