The latest new addition to the Forum Shops at Caesars won't be a store but the front of the building itself. The main exterior Strip entrance and outdoor fountain are slated to be torn down and replaced with a brand new and very dramatic three-story, 49-foot tall entrance.
Plans call for the 5,355-square-foot expansion to push the building all the way forward to Las Vegas Boulevard. The open concept will ease up pedestrian congestion in this area caused by the existing fountain.
The new third floor design will include an outdoor balcony and terrace protected behind a three-foot glass barrier. Plans hint at the possibility of a new tenant on the second floor occupying a very high profile space.
The Roman theme of Caesars Palace will be kept intact with the new entrance themed as a huge portico and colonnade welcoming shoppers. Look for lots of marble, glass and plenty of columns.
The huge reflecting pool and curved escalators will all remain untouched, although how construction will affect tenants directly next to the new construction like Marc Jacobs and Swarovski has yet to be announced, nor has a current timetable for completing this proposal.
