Racked Boston editor Susie Kostaras: Swinging through J.Crew last month, I was drawn to a simple, chic black tote in almost a magnetic way. It had a bit more edge than a typical J.Crew accessory, with strong lines, a pebbled texture, and clean gold hardware. Yes, I am taken with the Tartine satchel.
The large carrying handles look to be comfortable year round but especially with giant winter parkas, and a sturdy crossbody strap signals that this bag can bear the weight of a computer, iPod, extra shoes...whatever. At $325, the Tartine is neither outrageously expensive nor notably cheap, but it seems like an investment that will pay style dividends for seasons to come.
3-In-1 Shower Cleanser, $24 at Turo Skin
Racked NY Menswear Specialist Mickey Sery: Whether in my apartment or in my gym bag, I'm all for saving space. With Turo Skin's 3-In-1 Shower Cleanser, I'm able to eliminate the need for separate cleaning products for my hair, face and body, but not skimp on my shower. This triple-duty cleanser smells great and is packed with moisturizing ingredients so your skin won't dry out. Having these products rolled into one not only saves room but also time, as you can just lather once and rinse.
Wool Sherpa Moto Coat, $298 at Free People
Racked Philly editor Julie Davis: I'm a sucker for sherpa-lined anything, which is why Free People's Wool Sherpa Moto Coat is calling my name. Replete with snuggly sherpa, the coat looks seriously cuddly, but the motorcycle-inspired fit and zip wrists maintain the cool factor.
I can envision myself riding off into the sunset on a Harley in this thing, but more realistically, I'll wear it during apple picking and other wholesome autumn activities. I'll just have to wait for it to go on sale first.
Benefit Brow Gel available in two colors, $22
Racked NY associate editor Nicola Fumo: Benefit's Gimmie Brow is the easiest, most foolproof way I've found to transform standard issue eyebrows into statement brows. Available in two hues, the color is buildable, so you can choose how intense the look gets. I find this is perfect for minimal makeup days when my hair is pulled back, or any time I need to let my inner Cara Delevinge out.
Water Blossom Menorah, $350 at AmyReichertJudaica.com
Racked Chicago editor Jenny Berg: There's something heart-tuggingly magical about a menorah that's splattered with generations of candle wax. If you have that one, don't ever lose it. But do consider swapping it out this year for a stunning alternative.
Made by Chicago-based Judaica designer Amy Reichert, the piece floats a ring of golden, almond blossom-shaped candle holders in a pool of water. The water reflects the candlelight, and—bonus—it helps the candles fizzle out safely. If you can find it in your heart to pack this away with when Hanukkah is over, you're less of a golden-blossom enthusiast than I: this looks like a year-round centerpiece to me.
