Welcome to What's In Your Handbag?, a new weekly feature that looks inside someone's handbag to answer the burning question, what do you have in there? Want to nominate someone? Shoot over an email with details.
Today, Christine Kiely, the corporate support manager for Nevada Public Radio and associate publisher of Desert Companion, gives us a glimpse of what she carries in her handbag. Here, she carries a classic patent leather Coach 14663 Leah in black filled with the tools she needs to get her job done. Find out what's inside following the jump.
What kind of handbag?
Designer! This season my everyday work bag is my classic patent leather Coach 14663 Leah in black and my Tory Burch Amanda Classic in cobalt blue. My evening bag is a Lexi cross body bag in hibiscus by Vince Camuto.
What does your handbag say about you?
I'm stylish and prepared.
What's the most important thing in your handbag?
My wallet, of course.
How about the most surprising thing?
A lighter (I don't smoke).
What was the first handbag you carried that was memorable?
My first memorable handbag was a Louis Vuitton gift that I received from an old beau. I loved that purse! My first memorable handbag that I purchased myself was a Dooney & Bourke. I still have it.
Name eight items in your handbag and why you must carry them:
1. My wallet – all the important cards: my driver's license, my debit card, my credit cards, my gas card and my insurance cards. Oh, yes, and cash — which is rare to have any dollar bills in my wallet.
2. My front door keys including the gate key — after a night out on the town with my husband we took a cab home only to realize, after the cab left, that we did not have a key to the gate. Long story short, my parents had to get out of bed to let us in at 1 a.m.
3. I always carry a copy of the current issue of Desert Companion, since I am in sales for the organization. It is a perfect business card!
4. My sunglasses/eyeglasses — need them to drive.
5. Listerine squirt — always prepared with fresh breath.
6. Lip gloss — I live in the desert. Need moisturizer for lips at all times.
7. Pen – I'm in sales and I'm always in need of a pen.
8. Hair tie – I love to drive with my windows open and the music pumping – got to tie the hair back so I can see the road.
